The design for this 'self build' project was a response to the clients' brief for a spacious house in the 'Arts and Crafts' style with a local Devonshire vernacular emphasis. Natural local materials together with strong traditional forms combine with the split levels of the house to anchor it firmly into the sloping ground of its mature garden.
